It is with great pleasure that I join the Rector Michele Coppola and the entire Academic Council in welcoming the prestigious event, also sponsored by us, which will be held in the City of Lucca on November 30th on the occasion of the Centenary of the death of Giacomo Puccini, thanks to the precious and engaging initiative of Maestro Andrea Colombini, who will conduct the Lucca Philharmonic Orchestra in a Concert entirely dedicated to the great Composer.
And I want to applaud this event even more because Puccini has played a decisive role in my artistic education, in my musical feeling, as a set designer and director, since the early 90s, when I was appointed member of the Board of Directors of the Puccini Festival (as it was called then), through the assiduous frequentation of the places, the memories, the characters, the sublime melodies, naturally engaging, live, of the Maestro’s Operas.
The President
Luigi Del Fante
